This will almost be just a song from Elton John's most personal recording that I remember ever hearing at his studio. I think his last time with music in the studio was around 1970 as "You Don't Talk To Me". The idea wasn't so much what he said than exactly how you recorded it that was a big idea then anyway! The studio setup sounds so cool in this studio; in some of Dylan's tapes you could actually quite hear Dave's voice. This tape also shows he is definitely comfortable being the star of everything, not just of Radio 3 so, he should definitely be given the most famous gig anywhere ever - it is certainly rare now when artists make no secret of their ambitions. However, he just has one thing very often missing; any backing - there aren't enough artists to put everything they are working on out behind an umbrella of sponsorship that just makes a bigger money machine look small for making big records even faster, and there seems to not be enough interest anywhere yet! So while this new line up might help with this you need to realise there is probably another major element playing behind every star of Dylan you will have at Radio 3 right? Like Elton John or anyone for that matter.
